Communtiy InvolvementThe veterinarians and staff at Countryside Animal Hospital are pleased to give back to the communities that have been so supportive of their work over the years. We try to be as involved in as many community projects and events as we can.

Dr. Wood is a consultant to the Howell Nature Center, and is licensed to perform medicine and surgery on wildlife. Some of the services he has provided include fixing wing fractures on hawks and owls, removing fish hooks and wire from geese, swans, and great blue herons, vaccinating bobcats and coyotes and repairing turtle shells.

The outreach programs we support include The Howell High School occupational students job shadowing program, Howell High School Health Occupation class, school and group tours, in-school presentations. We also accept interns from local colleges, such as Baker College and Michigan State University.

We continue to sponsor such community events as the Pooch Posse, Sleepy Howell (our Halloween celebration), and the Melon Festival. We sponsor and attend many other community functions throughout Livingston County and support several rescue groups and service animal programs.
